Frequently Asked Questions

Licensing, downloads, formats and everything else you need to know before you create.

Yes. When you legally purchase a GOAT Audio product, you receive a non-exclusive commercial license to use the licensed content in qualifying new productions according to our license terms.

Once you create a qualifying new production, you can commercially release and monetize it. GOAT Audio does not take a percentage of the revenue or royalties your authorized production earns.

Royalty-free does not mean copyright-free or that ownership of the original GOAT Audio source material transfers to you.

Yes. That’s what they’re made for.

You can use properly licensed GOAT Audio content in qualifying new productions and commercially exploit those productions through streaming, record releases, YouTube, social media, film, television, advertising, games and other permitted commercial uses.

You keep the money and royalties generated by your authorized production. GOAT Audio does not require a royalty split simply because you used our licensed content.

No. You’re purchasing a non-exclusive license to use the content, not exclusive ownership of the original source material.

GOAT Audio and/or its applicable licensors retain their rights in the underlying samples, loops, MIDI, construction kits and other source material.

Our construction kits, loops and similar production content are designed to become part of a new production, not to be redistributed unchanged.

Adding your own music and/or vocals is the clearest example. Additional instrumentation, arrangement, production, performance and other meaningful creative contributions may also form part of your new production.

Yes. GOAT Audio licenses are generally non-exclusive. Other customers may legally purchase and use the same content.

Your original additions and finished production can still be yours, but purchasing a GOAT Audio product does not give you exclusive ownership of the underlying source material.

You may claim and register rights in your original contributions and resulting production to the extent permitted by copyright law.

Because GOAT Audio content is generally licensed non-exclusively, you should not claim exclusive ownership of the underlying GOAT Audio source material itself.

Copyright eligibility can also vary when AI-assisted or other non-copyrightable material is involved.

Some GOAT Audio products may incorporate AI-assisted technology as part of the creative and production process.

AI may be used alongside human production for idea generation, music production, sound design, editing, arrangement, mixing, mastering or other production tasks.

We may use technologies such as Suno and other commercially licensed production tools as part of our workflow.

Products designated by GOAT Audio for commercial use are sold under the applicable GOAT Audio commercial license, including products that may contain AI-assisted elements.

Our use of AI does not change the basic customer proposition: you can commercially exploit qualifying new productions created under your GOAT Audio license and earn money from them.

However, GOAT Audio does not guarantee that every individual AI-generated element is independently copyrightable, exclusive or eligible for copyright registration.

Generally, no credit is required unless a particular product specifically states otherwise.

We always appreciate the support, though.

Not simply because you used a properly licensed GOAT Audio product in an authorized new production.

There are no additional GOAT Audio royalties due on an authorized production unless a particular product or separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.

Yes. Authorized new productions may be commercially distributed through music streaming and download services, subject to our license and the rules of your distributor and streaming platforms.

Yes. Qualifying new productions may be used and monetized on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other social-media services, subject to their individual policies.

You need to be careful with Content ID and similar fingerprinting systems because GOAT Audio content is generally non-exclusive.

You may monetize an eligible finished production, but you cannot claim exclusive ownership of the underlying GOAT Audio loop or sample in a way that causes copyright claims against GOAT Audio or other customers who legally licensed the same material.

If your distributor requires every element of a recording to be exclusive before Content ID registration, your production may not qualify.

Yes. You may commercially exploit qualifying new productions, including producing music for artists and clients.

The GOAT Audio source material must remain incorporated into the new production and cannot be transferred to your customer as reusable standalone source material.

Yes. Our commercial license is designed to allow independent and professional commercial production.

A label, publisher or distributor may have its own clearance requirements, however, particularly concerning non-exclusive samples and Content ID.

Generally, yes, when the applicable GOAT Audio product license permits that use.

Finished music offered through Audio Cue may have different synchronization and usage terms from GOAT Audio sample packs, so always check the applicable product license.

No.

You cannot redistribute, resell, share, sublicense or package GOAT Audio source files as your own sample pack, construction kit, MIDI pack, preset library, expansion, stock-music library or competing product. You must use the content as part of a qualifying new production.

No. Your purchase gives you the license.

Another producer who wants access to the original GOAT Audio source files should obtain their own license.

Audio Cue is GOAT Audio’s music-licensing platform for creators who need professionally produced music for content such as YouTube videos, podcasts, film, social media, advertising, games and other productions.

Audio Cue licensing is separate from purchasing a traditional GOAT Audio sample pack, and the specific license associated with the music controls how it can be used.

Loop Cue is our developing ecosystem for organizing, discovering and matching production content.

Loop Cue is designed to make large sound libraries easier to navigate by helping producers find compatible loops and production material using information such as key, tempo, chords, genre, instrument and other musical characteristics.

Contact GOAT Audio Support before releasing your project if you’re unsure whether a particular use is covered. We’re happy to clarify licensing so you can create and commercially release your music with confidence.
